Eligibility
For our Adult Members Eligibility
Becoming a member is easy! Anyone aged 16 and above can become a member of Pennyburn Credit Union so long as you live or work in the BT47 or BT48 postcode areas. Plus, if you share your home with anexisting member, you can join too.
For Our Junior Members Eligibility
Our Junior Account caters to children from birth until their 16th birthday, encouraging early savings habits. Remember, a legal parent or guardian must open the account, ensuring the child’s savings journey starts on the right foot! Once they turn 16, they’ll transition to an adult account with even more benefits.
Steps to join
Joining as an adult
- Fill out the Membership Application form online or visit us to get started.
- Bring a valid photo ID and proof of address (dated within the last 3 months) to either of our offices to verify your information.
- Activate your account with a £1 joining fee and a minimum deposit of £5.
- Receive your passbook—your guide to tracking savings and transactions. Watch your progress and celebrate each milestone along the way!
Note: You can express your interest online, but any required forms must be completed in person at our office.

- Fill out the Junior Membership Application form in person. If the child is seven or older, they’ll add their own signature—a special milestone in their savings journey!
- Bring required documentation: Please provide the child’s long-form birth certificate or legal paperwork. The parent or guardian opening the account must also bring a photo ID and proof of address.
- Get started with a minimum deposit of just £1 to kick off your child’s savings.
